Intro

It is heartening to know that there's a sizable post-graduate students in
the Faculty of Built Environment. This email aims to kickstart an initiative
or an outlet rather where post-grad students get to know each other, exchange
opinions, conduct knowledge transfer maybe dessiminate relevant news and
information.

All of us come from diverse background but we all share some common
interests: research and real estate and maybe others. With this, I hope this
small community will be like an ecosystem where individuals benefit from
each other's strength.

I would like to praise the team responsible for establishment of this blog. This blog will help the students of FBE UM to exchange their views and experiences with fellow students. I want to add that during my studies at FBE I have received the utmost facilities, guidance and environment which are vital for postgraduate studies through research. I am thankful to faculty and office staff of FBE for their cooperation and would like to congratulate the whole faculty for completing a decade of sparing education. I hope and wish that this faculty will maintain its values and keep growing for ever. Thanks

Nice to see this blog in place so quickly. Thanks to Abdul Mutalib.

I'm looking at salient architectural preoccupations of built architecture in Malaysia 1957-1987. Only just started and will be looking high and low in my literature search over the next few months.

Well I am more than glad that responses are pouring in fast. Maybe we should invite our relevant supervisors to post some comments and thoughts in this blog.So feel free to inform them of this blog and I hope they will be at ease translating their thoughts into words.

My current research focuses on the effects of flood on commercial property values and it's possible mitigation. There's a plethora of international literature on that subject matter albeit few of none locally.

Empirically flooding, to a certain extent, does negate property value but the effects are not universally felt and temporary in nature. However,in Malaysia,to the best of my knowledge, I haven't found any major or minor research on the subject matter.

Any comments?
